I used to know two Australians, one from Queensland, one from NSW. They were insistent that in one state, “o” was added, and in the other “y”. Unfortunately I can’t remember which way around it was. That along with the facts that this has nothing to do with England and that this wasn’t a very good anecdote in the first place makes me wish I hadn’t started this at all
