Bert sent us these, plus some other pictures and some text. We left out half the pictures and then changed one of the lines to make the whole thing more repetitive. This gives you some insight into our “style”.

Chris Read’s day just gets better and better. Here he gets to meet Paul Allott.

  1. Does anyone have any photographs of a despondent-looking Marcus Trescothick and a similarly morose Somerset team when they realised that they were not blessed with such a Paul Allott encounter?

  2. So many questions…

Ged, the ECB had Paul Allott on standby in a helicopter near Leeds, ready to be transferred to Manchester or Durham as required.

Sevendaughters, they are at Old Trafford because that’s where I was with my camera, and if there’s one thing I know about Paul Allott it’s that he can’t resist a camera.

Chowkster, it’s the last day of a terrific County Championship, full of excitement and tension, but still the County Championship.

Henwelder, it’s not the sunshine, nor the moonlight, nor even I understand the good times, but I am led to believe that it had something to do with the boogie.

Deep Cower, maybe they’d left the gas on. I can’t think of another reason.

And now a question of my own. KC, how come you didn’t use the photo I captioned about Samit Patel? It was the only one that made me laugh.

  3. I think I know most of the Nottinghamshire team with their backs to me in the 2nd snap. Absolutely no idea in pic 3 due to the exceptional clarity.

A worrying thought just came into my brain.

  4. Bert, that particular caption didn’t mention Paul Allott. That was our only problem with it.
