Adil Rashid, Yorkshire

Was it really as far back as August 2006 that we tipped Adil Rashid? Tipped him to be a great player, that is – we didn’t incline him away from the perpendicular or anything. He was one to watch last year as well and justified his inclusion.

There are so many reasons why Adil Rashid should play for England and we don’t really see the point in waiting much longer. Just think, England could realistically field five bowlers and still have a lower order that went Flintoff, Rashid, Broad, Sidebottom, Panesar. That’d make the five-down to all out procession a tad more laboured.

Two all-rounders. Two spinners. A leg-spinner!

We’re coming out in a sweat. And a rash, but that’s unrelated.

Some county players who aren’t quite so worth watching – but you still have to.

  1. I agree – Rashid should be given a chance – maybe against New Zealand at Old Trafford? That can be a two-spinners kind of pitch.

  2. J Rod:
Adil Rashid was born in Bradford. You don’t get much more England than Bradford. It’s cold, it rains and people are miserable but proud.

  3. first and foremost mr atheist the aforementioned blogger how can you be an atheist. Please throw your pride out the window and believe in something greater than you and I who live triumphantly and kingdomly for 80 years but then we die yes we shall all taste death! Why is it scientists can oerfirm heart transplants but once the soul departs the death is confirmed. Look my stupid atheist believe in god and god will reward or punish you accordingly but id you believe in nature, it will not reward you after you due, you wont be answerable to nature so believe in god and its a win win situation. This is a simplified lecture from a wise 18 year old! But that saying should linger forever on ‘you won’t find an atheist on a sinking ship’ my emails rawats58@gmail.com and as for aril rashid a great talent but needs to endeaveaur in picking up more wickets instead of of economy.
