At 26-8, Izatullah Dawlatzai will have been champing at the bit. “My chance is nearly here. One more wicket and I can show them what I can do.” Several over later, he finally got his chance, but after facing only three balls, during which he failed to score a run, he was left stranded on nought not out.
He was primed, he was ready, but circumstances denied him his opportunity to shine. Poor Izatullah Dawlatzai.
This was rather cruel.

England avoided the embarrassing defeat to a non-test side. Job done for this tournament, humiliation avoided. Anything from this point on is a bonus.
That’s quite a low bar you set yourself, daneel. With a minimum of four matches still to come, it makes it quite likely that your expectations will be exceeded.

Is humiliation avoided just yet?

Possibly humiliation merely deferred, not avoided.
