Pretty sure propaganda has to be clearly labelled as such in order for it to be properly effective.
In the comments on our last post, Ceci suggested that the Pakistani batsmen believe what they read. With that in mind, we’d like to put this site forward as official Pakistani cricket team reading matter. Wrong language and all that, but never mind.
At one point in yesterday’s play, Salman Butt brought his bat inside the line of a James Anderson outswinger. Some experts were moved to comment that it was the finest leave they’d seen since Sunil Gavaskar against Garry Sobers in the fifth over of the first innings at Port of Spain in 1971.
This Pakistani batting can be quite exceptional at times.
I like how a line on propoganda follows a plug for Ceci.
Or was it for you?
Or was that the joke?
“You are posting comments too quickly – slow down” – WordPress.
Oh, and I am going to play softball in a while.
i would not dream of plugging anything on a royal site Deep Cower, apart from the King’s bath should he so wish
Be gone all thoughts about plugging KC.
Can’t you just run this delivery through some sort of “app” and have it translated into Urdu, KC?
If you really want to help the Pakistan cricket team.
Anyways, I’d like to see what it looks like in Urdu.
Think we remember that from an iPhone advert:
Tired of finding apps? There’s a nap for that.
I googled “translate english to urdu free”, found the following site:
http://translation.babylon.com/english/to-urdu/
Entered your above propaganda and received this:
Thought you’d all like to know.
Where did the 3610 come from?
Even we can spot the flaws in mechanical translation into Urdu and we can’t read a word of it.
Google is better, no 3610 in that..
Outswinger comes in English in both versions though.. Is that the reason Pakistani bowlers learn to bowl only In swingers in their early days as Outswinger has no equivalent word in Urdu :-/
Surely not one of those “my English-Urdu translation app. is better than your English-Urdu translation app.” debates, Sandeep?
Mind you, there is something well dodgy about that 3610 interlude, especially as that seems to be the translation of “fifth over of the first innings”.
Weird.
Hey none of them is my translation 😉
According to “my” Babylon translator, the Urdu word for inswinger is inswinger.
However, the Urdu for reverse swing is ریورس سوئنگ
Sarfraz Nawaz would be ecstatic.
Entering ‘3610’ into that translator and going Urdu to English gives the translation ‘give that place’.
Ah, that must be “Port of Spain” then.
Explains everything.
So could Ashley Giles (“King of Spain”) be 7510 in Urdu?
