And Ian Bell the infuriating wanker gets out poking at a wide one two overs before scheduled end of play.
Ian Bell was terrific today. I’m genuinely pleased for him. South Africans love draws, its all about giving the punters what they want.
It’s typical of Ian Bell to almost turn a triumph into a disaster with a moment of haplessness just when the job was almost done; maybe that’s why I go against offical KC policy and like him. He’s definitely my favourite player in this team, the one I root for, so I’m pleased to see him getting the plaudits today.
I’m most amused to see that the three England batsmen most armchair pundits would drop first (Collingwood, Bell, Cook) are all averaging in the mid 50s in this series, about 20 runs higher than their 3 more lauded colleagues – esp. Strauss, who’s actually averaging under 30.
To be fair, Horatius, who has never poked at a wide one at some point in their lives?
